Photo Challenge Day 5

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

As a newly wed I would have to say that my favorite memory to date would be the "I DO" that Bobby and I agreed to (sounds kind of weird that way) on January 15, 2011. Happily married is an understatement, but we're really enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, we are "real" people and fight, but I love him so much and I know he feels the same way, so it works - happy as larks.

Photo Challenge Day 4

Day 04 - A picture of your night

I had a hard time with this one because I wasn't really sure what to put. But, after we got home late Sunday from the lake I figured a picture of what I was actually doing Sunday evening would work. I spent the evening on our couch with the pups watching a few DVRed shows and some of the Oscars. When Bobby works late this is where you find me. It's not a cute pictures but its how I was at the time.
I also got a shot of Sadie as she is usually on the couch with Hines and I, but she was rather focused on her kong.

Photo Challenge Day 3

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

I have a lot of favorite shows so I am going to bend the rules a little and make this a 3 part answer. Part A - favorite reality show, Part B - favorite drama/sitcom and Part C - favorite show I watch with my husband.

Part A: AMAZING RACE (I really really really want to join the show and race around the world, but I can't get Bobby to committ to do it with me. I might work on my dad to do it with me because we would kick butt.)

Part B: Grey's Anatomy. I've been a fan for a long time, no other show can make me happy, sad, cry and laugh all in one episode.

Part C: Burn Notice. Bobby and I watch a few shows together but this one we both really enjoy and he won't start watching it without me and vice versa.

Photo Challenge Day 2

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest:

My sister is the person I have been closest with the longest. Growing up we were best buds even when we "hated" each other in high school. She is a great person to have in my life and I'm glad she is my sister.
Back when we were younger at the beach. We were both a little chubby. Nonetheless we were cute kids.

30- Day Photo Challenge

I am going to try REALLY REALLY hard to complete this challenge. I do well with lists. So hopefully this list will give me the motivation to blog everyday. I took this challenge off Facebook. Feel free to join in the fun!!

Day #1- A photo of yourself with ten facts:
This is one of my favorite photos from Clint & Ellie's wedding. Good thing dad paid for all those years of braces :)

Ten Facts:
1.I am a Southern Girl at heart, born and raised in Marietta, GA. (well... born in German town, TN, but I was only there a few days)
2.I just married my best friend, he's an amazing man, a great husband and will one day be a fantastic father.
3.I have one sibling, my sister Jamie. She and I are very different, but I love her very much!
4.I am one of the few people who actually enjoyed high school. I swam on swim team, cheered, was class President, on homecoming court, etc. I would go back any time.
5.I have a small obsession with Diet Coke, it runs in my blood.
6.Growing up, I spent every summer at summer camps on the lake and then was a counselor for 8 years, loved every minute of it. (thanks to High Harbour)
7.I am an avid sports fan. My favorite teams are the Georgia Bulldawgs, the Braves & The Falcons. I married into a Steelers Family, so when they aren't playing the Falcons I'll pull for the Steelers.
8.We have 2 adorable pups, Sadie Jane Johnson & Hines Ward Johnson. I would die for either of them and I think they are the best thing since sliced bread.
9.I have the worlds best parents and grandparents. They are my "in house" counselors and I love them all. My sweet grandmother is like no other and oozes selfless love. My great grandmother is still with us as well and pushing 100!
10.I am blessed to have a great job with people I enjoy and a company that I believe it.

Couples Game Night

This Saturday we had a few friends over for Couples Game Night. We had the same type of thing last year so this was the "2nd annual" Game Night. Bobby smoked a Turkey on the Green Egg, which was great and Megan brought some yummy Mac & Cheese and we had the best ewwy gewwy strawberry bars and chocolate chip cookies. We played Pictionary, a DVD pop culture game and this new game called Things. It was a funny funny night and of course the girls won @ Pictionary! 2nd year in a row.

House on the Market

I believe I've mentioned it before, but I just wanted to put it out there again. Bobby and I have put the house on the market and would love to show it to anyone who is interested. We love the area and love our neighbors even more, but would like to get into a house where we can live for the next 10-15 years with little babies running around. The house is wonderful and we'll be sad to leave it, but it will be a great house for someone else. Official description below:

Love & Valentines Day

I'm not sure who came up with Valentine's Day but in theory its a great idea. We all get so busy with life, work, family, friends, etc. that we don't always take the time to say "I Love You." A day in the year to make sure we all at least think about those we love is wonderful. However, its turned into a commercialized event that requires lots of money, or atleast that is what it seems. I was reminded this Sunday in church that I didn't take the time to really thank the real LOVE in my life, God. We are all so blessed and learn to Love from the Lord, I forget that sometimes and very thankful to have learned to love from my parents and sweet grandmother, but most importantly from the Lord.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Mark 12:30

Valentines Day was special this year for us. Our first married Valentines Day. My sweet husband and I had dinner downtown at Blue Pointe (fabulous sushi) and then went to see the Atlanta Symphony. It was a great Valentines celebration and I can't say how much I love him. Then today I got these beautiful flowers. For a new wife I can't be happier. Bobby is so good to make sure I know he loves me and I can honestly say I love him just as much. Loving the Lord and having a good man to Love you is an amazing feeling. I only hope you all know the Love of the Lord and have family and friends to share that love with.

Truck, Cabin & Spoon

Last night Bobby worked late (the usual) and after I attempted to get home early to take Sadie back to the vet (poor thing had a uti that wasn't doing well), having dinner, doing laundry and picking up the house, I realized it was only 7 and I was home with the pups and without anything else on my "to do" list. It was a great feeling. So, I sat myself on the couch and caught up on some DVRed shows. The first one I watched was Grey's Anatomy. If you read my blog enough you know I watch a lot of junk TV, but after a long day and sitting in traffic for what seems like forever to get home, I just want to watch something mindless and Reality TV fits. Grey's Anatomy isn't really mindless and I'm not sure why I enjoy it so much, but I do. I've cried several times watching the show and I actually think alot of what they cover is relevant to things going on in today's society. Of course its all dramatized, But that's Television for you.

Last night's show focused for a minute on Alzheimers. (Which I can never pronounce correctly) I was intrigued because Alzheimers is a disease that I am terrified of. Being very close to my grandparents the last thing I want is to see them in a state where they don't know who they are and where they are. As a child I always looked up to my grandparents and I dread the day when they will no longer be with us. I am fortunate enough to even have a great grandmother. She's a testy old lady, but still here and mentally she seems on top of her game. The show is running a "clinical trial" (well Dr. Grey and her husband) for a new drug for Alzheimers. They asked the people in the study to remember 3 words; truck, cabin and spoon. Simple enough for the average person, but not for those losing their memory. I can only hope and pray that I go physically before mentally and that I never have loved ones affected by this terrible disease. The positive news is that my grandparents in their 80's (but don't tell Grandma Flo that, she thinks she's 30) are in good health mentally. Grandpa has a hard time with new places some, but for the most part they are doing well and I hope they are here to meet their great-grandchildren.

Honeymoon

This is my final wedding post for awhile. It seems its taken me a few weeks to get to cover everything, but I figured I should take advantage of being a bride as long as possible. But don't fret, once I get the professional photos back I will be sure to post as many as possible, heehee.

For our honeymoon we went to Sandals @ Emerald Bay. Originally we had plans to go to Sandals @ St. Lucia, but we waited too long to get flights, so Exumus Bahamas it was. For about 1/3 of the cost of 1 ticket mind you. Either way we knew it would be warm and all inclusive. And was it ever! I got some great sun, we drank a lot of tropical drinks and enjoyed every aspect of the all inclusiveness of the resort. We even made a few friends along the way. One ouf our favorite memories from the trip was when they gave us a little boat and just set us loose on the water to sail. Bobby was in charge and it was hilarious. I don't know the first thing about sailing and other than the quick crash course given to him by the guys working in water sports that morning, either does Bobby. But we figured it out long enough to get a good ways out turn around and come right back in. But, it was an adventure nonetheless. See pictures below:

Our Wedding

The big day was really a blur, but an amazing blur. We haven't gotten back the official pictures but I wanted to post a few that Becca has posted for us on facebook, etc. See below:

Our photographer, Becca with Studio B Photography posted some of the pictures on her Blog as well, HERE.
And we were excited to find out that we also had some pictures posted on another wedding blog HERE.

The Big Day

So I'm taking my sweet time getting everything posted, but that's because I just haven't had the time between catching up and sleeping (gotta love the sleep) to write on this blog when I wanted to. And lets be honest, work comes first over the personal blog. Nonetheless, I'm making the time during lunch today :)

The day of our wedding I woke up at 5:00 am and texted my sister about 10 minutes later to remind her to bring me something when she came to the Hilton. I just couldn't sleep and I was so excited that my body was on over drive. My parents, my sister and I had breakfast the morning of the wedding, our "last supper" so to speak. Or at least the last time I'd have breakfast as a Phillips with the Phillips Family. It was great and very calming to know my family was all there with me.

We started hair and make up at 10 am and the rest is history. It was great to have a suite at the Hilton to get ready in and I had the pleasure of having all of my bridesmaids (minus Sara) spend the day with me getting ready, having lunch and keeping me calm. Pictures below of us all getting ready. Gotta love the bathrobe, Bobby gave it to me for Christmas and I LOVE it!

This final picture was the first time dad saw my dress. The start of the fancy wedding pictures!
