"You Will Never Go to Wal-Mart Alone Again"

I don't know about you, but I like to shop where the prices are cheap and the deals are good. So, in Marietta that means Wal-Mart. Believe it or not, the face wash Bobby likes is actually $2 cheaper at Wal-Mart than anywhere else. They have the corner on the cheap market. Nonetheless, I usually have to go it alone when shopping the Wal-Mart (WM)way. But, last night after dinner I convinced Bobby to go with me to make the trip shorter and because I just wanted his company. : ) So we hit the WMn around 10:30, after dark, which I would not recommend, but we needed a few things and that was the time we could go. It was actually crawling with people, none of which I would be friends with, but nonetheless crowded. We went home and went on our merry way.

This morning I have 2 missed calls on my cell after drying my hair and getting ready to head into the office. It's Bobby and his message says " Call me ASAP, you will not believe what I have to tell you." Naturally I am worried and thinking that something big has happened. My first thought was that Sara and Brian were engaged and I was trying to figure out how to respond to that. But, no, not that! Apparently around 12:30 last night, or early this morning, there was a shooting at that same Wal-Mart we had just been at. An hour and a half after we left shots were fired and at least 5 cars were hit, no one was injured but OMG. Bobby read me the article and concluded it with , "You will never go to Wal-Mart again without me." Very scary but sweet that he worries about me.

See the story HERE

The good news is that isn't even my preferred Wal-Mart, so I won't be sad to not return there!

Justin Lies & the Lawyer Goes Home

Last Night's episode was full of drama. I really could not believe that his girlfriend, Jessica called Ali. But, then again everyone is looking for their 15 minutes of fame. It seemed very high school to me, but it was entertaining. I was proud of Ali for acting the way she did and confronting him. No woman should ever let a man treat her with disrespect the way Justin did. He didn't even have an excuse, he was caught and that was it. The best part was the replay of messages he had left for Jessica telling her he loved her. He's a lost puppy and this is a prime reason why it would never work for me to be on a reality show, how would you know whats real and what isn't. Whats worse is that Jessica has since taken him back, there are photos of them all over the place after the show taped the last episode. But, Ali seemed to recover rather quickly and it didn't seem to bother her on the rest of her one on one dates. Ty got the first date and he was super cute. But, I cringed when hr made the comment about women "now" being presidents of companies and CEOs, really? And I get the impression his first wife wasn't happy that he wanted her barefoot and pregnant, or what that implies. But, I think he recovered ok and hopefully will be in the final 3.

Moving on however...what was up with the olive oil wrestling in Turkey. OMG! I wasn't sure what that was all about and if I was one of the guys I would have just said no, what a dumb thing to do. I actually skipped most of that part and sat on our deck for a little while with the pups. But, I did catch the next date - Frank. Them going to the bazaar made me want to go there to shop, very cool looking place. He is a bit too artsy for me, but Ali really seems to like him. He reminds me of that great guy friend you have that you love, but never fall in love with. He's the one that gives you clothing advice and dating tips, but he could be gay. Either way, I think Ali is falling for him and he's not so much sure about it. At the end of the night Craig had to hit the road and without a cocktail party. Random set of events but I think Ali had her mind made up and there is no reason to waste the time or feelings. The previews for next week show a rather emotional set of events. Clearly Frank isn't into it and poor Ali might actually get her heart broken again. She really needs a good man.

GA Boy Isner Wins @ Wimbledon

UGA tennis alumni, John Isner, has been playing the pro circuit since he graduated from UGA. But before this epic match with Nicolas Mahut stretched into its third day, 12th hour and 183rd game, Isner this season had held serve 88% of the time — fourth-best on the tour, among the 73 players with enough match play to rate a ranking. Rather impressive for a UGA graduate. Isner emerged as a top 40 player in early 2009 but has never had a match like this with Mahut.

He was on the Today show this morning talking about yesterday's match and how he was preparing for today's match and all the while wearing a red t-shirt with Uga on it. A big shout out to his former team mates and Georgia in general. We were all proud. To see clip from the Today Show CLICK HERE.

And the good news is that he won! 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (3), 70-68.

The Tattoo Gets The Cold Sholder

This week's bachlorett was clearly themed “finding love in Iceland.” After the boys spent time in New York they were flown to Iceland to find a Winter Wonderland and love. Kind of cheesy if you ask me. My favorite quote of the start of the show was Kasey (creeper), who said, and I quote, “Who will find love in Iceland? That would be me. I’ve got the rose right here. FOR-EV-ER.”

This week they had to compete for a date with Ali and had to find locals willing to teach them Icelandic phrases. Kirk corners shop keepers, Chris L. figures no one will know the difference and begins making phrases up and Justin realizes it doesn’t matter if he’s on crutches in the middle of the street with a goofy hat and camera crew…people just don’t like him and refuse to render help. Some of the poems were terrible but there were a few that were kind of touching and thoughtful. I think Kirk's might have been scripted, but he did deserve the win either way.

Kirk [walking slowly and methodically up to Ali]:
Los Angeles is where our journey has begun.
It’s where I noticed your adorable freckles in the sun.
Next off to New York I found myself falling
Into your rich root beer eye.
Our journey now has led us both somewhere cold.
But it’s here in Iceland I’m hoping aus coor our ore.
Or in English…our love will unfold
.
On their one on one date they started talking about dating history, etc. and at some point Kirk puts his foot in his mouth when he says, “I’ve dated some great women. I can’t say a bad thing about them. We can talk about that later though.” As if maybe there is still a great woman at home that he wants to get back together with. There is always something and to me he doesn't seem like he's really there. Maybe the mold affected him for life!

Then there is pathetic Kasey. He really puts the icing on the cake for crazy. When talking to Frank about showing Ali his tattoo he says,“If I’m not here for love, I don’t know what I’m here for. I came here to open up. I got this tattoo to be someone. To be a man for Ali. To be a man for that woman.” “I’m a dreamer, a lover, a believer. Physical pain is nothing. Emotional pain sucks. If I get sent home, I will be destroyed. I can’t guard and protect her heart from America when she is here in Iceland. What do I do?” I'm guessing he's destroyed because he went home. He showed Ali his tattoo and her face was priceless... they even left him on the glacier. Terrible, but really funny if you think about it. He was way over the top and all of his "guarding your heart" quotes were really just too much. I'm glad Ali saw that as well.

The only other person who went home this week was random Chris M. Or at least I think that was his name. I never even noticed him until this episode. Next week proves to be full of drama. I have a feeling Rated R gets confronted for having a girlfriend at home and maybe Frank decides to step it up. My vote for the top 4 are Frank, Kirk, Roberto & Ty. Or if not Ty Chris L. I've read a few spoilers but would rather just wait and see what happens.

Marietta Wedding

My good friend Erin got married this weekend and the wedding was beautiful. Of course I think all weddings are beautiful, but that's only because they are. The bride was busy so we didn't get a picture with her, at least not on my camera. But it was a great night with some great friends. Summer weddings are always full of color and the pink brides maids dresses are a good example of this. Mr. & Mrs. Stuntz are now in Mexico but when they return I'm sure we'll get some better pictures.

Cloudy with a chance of tears

Bachlorette craziness has really taken off. Let's just start with how annoying Kasey last night. I really felt tortured by him singing, more than once!, talking like he was a bit obsesses and that dran tattoo he went to get. I only wish he had the chance to show her his craziness and I think she would have cut him on the spot. And honestly, what is up with his voice? I am convinced he's had a few nose jobs and has to talk threw the nose that was recreated, it drives me nuts! I would not want him to guard my heart, scary!

The other dates however were very cool. How often do you get to be in the Lion King on Broadway! Her experience with Roberto had to be a blast. I just couldn't figure out why after that she didn't give him a rose. It was odd to me for them to be so close and her to kiss him and then not give out a rose. But, then again she did let Kirk tuck her in, which was sweet! He however seems very hesitant and guarded. I hope he loves her back and isn't the one who lets her down.

Then there was her date with Chris. Who until this episode I didn't really care for. But, he's a great guy. It was his birthday and he brought her flowers because she was sick. Really a stand up guy and they looked comfortable together. He did get a rose and a well deserved one at that. Their night ended with a roof top celebration with a singer I'd never heard of,Joshua Radin. I did however look him up on Youtube and I really like his songs.

In the end, she said bye-bye to weatherman Jonathan and general contractor Jesse. The weatherman who kept using phrases like, "It's Sunny with a chance of blue skys" or it looks Cloudy up ahead. COME ON! He was just not a good fit, but he did tear up on the way out. Jesse however didn't really seem to care, he said he missed his dogs and was ready to be home.

BELLWETHER STATION!

Bobby's Band, Bellwether station had their first show last night and it was great! HOT is a word that comes to mind and it works for the atmosphere and the music. They had a great turn out, something like 100 people and were asked back to play this Fall! Chris Fox, lead for all the songs, was great and the boys really did well. Overall, the best I've heard them ever!! Music clips to come as soon as I can get my hands on them.
Thank goodness the bass player is taken, he's hot!

Savannah For the weekend

Our wedding travels continued this weekend in Savannah. I love it there and could move there if we had to, not that we are any time soon! We drove down early early (4:30 a.m.) Friday morning so Bobby could get to a deposition scheduled and then spent the rest of the weekend with wedding activities and visiting family. The hotel we stayed at is one of the newer ones off River Street and it was great. We highly recommend it! It was nice just to hang out, casually get ready and enjoy the wedding. We made a trip to Tybee to see my aunt Sheila and uncle Bobby and of course we hung out with Boone. All in all a great, hot and humid wedding weekend in Savannah.

Summer Wedding Fun

This weekend amidst the power outages we've been experiencing on our street, we started wedding season. Really the season started in April with Clint & Ellie's wedding, but this weekend started our 4 weddings in a row. I love it, Bobby, not so much. This weekend we were in Athens for Jenny & Adam's wedding. The Perrys are now official and their wedding was really sweet. Everything was at the Foundry Park Inn and the bride and wedding party all looked great. It's June and it was a little warm, but the out door setting was great. This weekend we're headed to Savannah!

NYC - Installment Three

Our last day in New York was a real treat. We took a trip to the new Yankee Stadium and saw a great game complete with a grand slam! Bobby also took his first trip on the Subway and lived. The Trocks were so gracious to take us to the game and we can't thank them enough. When they come to town there will be a Braves game in order.
Grand slam! Yankees of course won. It was perfect weather for a game and the stadium is really nice. Overall our trip was fabulous!

NYC - Installment Two

And the trip continues... After our first day with the food tour, a good walk at Central Park and some time with the Trocks we had dinner with Susan and Greg at this great Thai place and drinks at the Gin Bar that we loved! Sunday we got up, did the New York Bagel experience, a little less than we expected and had great lunch in the park with the Trocks. That evening we saw a show off Broadway, but it was fabulous! Rock of Ages! One of the best we've seen. See and hear below:Susan and I after dinner, the only picture we took, should have taken a few more. Thanks Sus for a great time!Bobby and little Emily in Central Park. It's every one's big back yard. After the show we spent some time in Time Square. It's still amazing at night. And during the summer they close a few streets and put tables out so people can enjoy the weather and the atmosphere.

NYC - Installment One

I thought because we took a ton of pictures and because there is so much to share that I'd put this trip into 3 installments. After all, you wouldn't want to miss anything...

We left for the airport early Friday and just as we hit the parking spot the sky opened up and the rain came down in sheets. But, when we checked in everything seemed to be OK. However, once we reached the gate our flight was canceled and mass craziness had begun at the airport. I knew if we went home Bobby would not come back. So, I waited in line for well over half an hour and when we got to the front I was really sweet and I lied and told them we had a wedding in Central Park the next morning and couldn't miss it. So... we flew out of Atlanta 6 hours later around 11:30 and got to our hotel at 2:00 a.m. Great start to Bobby's first NYC trip! But it was smooth sailing from there and we had a wonderful time. Best way to tell you about our trip is to show you pictures and insert comments. See below for the fabulous installment 1 of a great trip!

Highlights: Food Tour in Greenwich Village, Seeing Greg & Susan, Fun times with the Trocks, a treat to the Yankees Game, Rock of Ages and quality vacation time with my favorite person!
