Happy late Labor Day! Labor Day is significant for a lot of reasons. Some of these reasons being; the start of college football season, the celebration of American workers, the end of white shoes, white dresses and all that is southern and white (including Bobby's seersucker) and the last vacation time of the summer. In honor of all of these things we went to the first UGA game of the season in Athens and then drove to Charleston for the weekend. We had the best time! It was a lot of driving and we were tired last night when we finally got home, but it was well worth it. Of course, my camera battery was charging in the kitchen the entire weekend so I don't really have any pictures, but I snapped a few on my phone and have posted them below. Brandy has a few as well that I'll post once she sends them my way. We traveled with the Sutherlands and had a blast. Brandy and I shopped and did the girl stuff and Bobby and Teddy did the historical tours and forts. Overall it was a great trip.
We stayed at the Francis Marion on King Street, which was a perfect location for us to see down town and to get to all the fabulous restaurants where we ate. One of the high lights was our upgraded room the night we checked in. There were 4 weddings at the hotel that evening and because we had checked in later than planned there were no rooms at the level we paid available. So, the desk clerk upgraded us to the pent house for free. We loved it! We event went back to the front desk after checking in to make sure he hadn't messed up and put us in the wrong room. The room was great, a full kitchen, king size bed, large tub in the bathroom and a beautiful view of the Charleston Harbor. We really enjoyed the luxury.
More of Charleston to come as I receive the pictures!
