Marietta Wedding

My good friend Erin got married this weekend and the wedding was beautiful. Of course I think all weddings are beautiful, but that's only because they are. The bride was busy so we didn't get a picture with her, at least not on my camera. But it was a great night with some great friends. Summer weddings are always full of color and the pink brides maids dresses are a good example of this. Mr. & Mrs. Stuntz are now in Mexico but when they return I'm sure we'll get some better pictures.

Cloudy with a chance of tears

Bachlorette craziness has really taken off. Let's just start with how annoying Kasey last night. I really felt tortured by him singing, more than once!, talking like he was a bit obsesses and that dran tattoo he went to get. I only wish he had the chance to show her his craziness and I think she would have cut him on the spot. And honestly, what is up with his voice? I am convinced he's had a few nose jobs and has to talk threw the nose that was recreated, it drives me nuts! I would not want him to guard my heart, scary!

The other dates however were very cool. How often do you get to be in the Lion King on Broadway! Her experience with Roberto had to be a blast. I just couldn't figure out why after that she didn't give him a rose. It was odd to me for them to be so close and her to kiss him and then not give out a rose. But, then again she did let Kirk tuck her in, which was sweet! He however seems very hesitant and guarded. I hope he loves her back and isn't the one who lets her down.

Then there was her date with Chris. Who until this episode I didn't really care for. But, he's a great guy. It was his birthday and he brought her flowers because she was sick. Really a stand up guy and they looked comfortable together. He did get a rose and a well deserved one at that. Their night ended with a roof top celebration with a singer I'd never heard of,Joshua Radin. I did however look him up on Youtube and I really like his songs.

In the end, she said bye-bye to weatherman Jonathan and general contractor Jesse. The weatherman who kept using phrases like, "It's Sunny with a chance of blue skys" or it looks Cloudy up ahead. COME ON! He was just not a good fit, but he did tear up on the way out. Jesse however didn't really seem to care, he said he missed his dogs and was ready to be home.

BELLWETHER STATION!

Bobby's Band, Bellwether station had their first show last night and it was great! HOT is a word that comes to mind and it works for the atmosphere and the music. They had a great turn out, something like 100 people and were asked back to play this Fall! Chris Fox, lead for all the songs, was great and the boys really did well. Overall, the best I've heard them ever!! Music clips to come as soon as I can get my hands on them.
Thank goodness the bass player is taken, he's hot!

Savannah For the weekend

Our wedding travels continued this weekend in Savannah. I love it there and could move there if we had to, not that we are any time soon! We drove down early early (4:30 a.m.) Friday morning so Bobby could get to a deposition scheduled and then spent the rest of the weekend with wedding activities and visiting family. The hotel we stayed at is one of the newer ones off River Street and it was great. We highly recommend it! It was nice just to hang out, casually get ready and enjoy the wedding. We made a trip to Tybee to see my aunt Sheila and uncle Bobby and of course we hung out with Boone. All in all a great, hot and humid wedding weekend in Savannah.

Summer Wedding Fun

This weekend amidst the power outages we've been experiencing on our street, we started wedding season. Really the season started in April with Clint & Ellie's wedding, but this weekend started our 4 weddings in a row. I love it, Bobby, not so much. This weekend we were in Athens for Jenny & Adam's wedding. The Perrys are now official and their wedding was really sweet. Everything was at the Foundry Park Inn and the bride and wedding party all looked great. It's June and it was a little warm, but the out door setting was great. This weekend we're headed to Savannah!

NYC - Installment Three

Our last day in New York was a real treat. We took a trip to the new Yankee Stadium and saw a great game complete with a grand slam! Bobby also took his first trip on the Subway and lived. The Trocks were so gracious to take us to the game and we can't thank them enough. When they come to town there will be a Braves game in order.
Grand slam! Yankees of course won. It was perfect weather for a game and the stadium is really nice. Overall our trip was fabulous!

NYC - Installment Two

And the trip continues... After our first day with the food tour, a good walk at Central Park and some time with the Trocks we had dinner with Susan and Greg at this great Thai place and drinks at the Gin Bar that we loved! Sunday we got up, did the New York Bagel experience, a little less than we expected and had great lunch in the park with the Trocks. That evening we saw a show off Broadway, but it was fabulous! Rock of Ages! One of the best we've seen. See and hear below:Susan and I after dinner, the only picture we took, should have taken a few more. Thanks Sus for a great time!Bobby and little Emily in Central Park. It's every one's big back yard. After the show we spent some time in Time Square. It's still amazing at night. And during the summer they close a few streets and put tables out so people can enjoy the weather and the atmosphere.

NYC - Installment One

I thought because we took a ton of pictures and because there is so much to share that I'd put this trip into 3 installments. After all, you wouldn't want to miss anything...

We left for the airport early Friday and just as we hit the parking spot the sky opened up and the rain came down in sheets. But, when we checked in everything seemed to be OK. However, once we reached the gate our flight was canceled and mass craziness had begun at the airport. I knew if we went home Bobby would not come back. So, I waited in line for well over half an hour and when we got to the front I was really sweet and I lied and told them we had a wedding in Central Park the next morning and couldn't miss it. So... we flew out of Atlanta 6 hours later around 11:30 and got to our hotel at 2:00 a.m. Great start to Bobby's first NYC trip! But it was smooth sailing from there and we had a wonderful time. Best way to tell you about our trip is to show you pictures and insert comments. See below for the fabulous installment 1 of a great trip!

Highlights: Food Tour in Greenwich Village, Seeing Greg & Susan, Fun times with the Trocks, a treat to the Yankees Game, Rock of Ages and quality vacation time with my favorite person!

New York Here We Come

At 4:00 today it will be official, we'll be on VACATION!!! And we're headed to the Big Apple! It's Bobby's first trip to New York so I plan to make a tourist out of him. We'll be visiting the Trock as well, which is what he's looking forward to the most. He even offered to wear his pants hiked up and have a camera around his neck all weekend if I'd let him act like a Japanese tourist. I passed, no worries! Lots to report when we're home! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Bachelorette Firt Impressions

Monday night kicked off the 6th season of The Bachelorette. I was so happy to learn it would be Ali, last season's bachelor contestant that chose her job over Jake. But, if I had been in her position I would have done the same thing. Jake was choosing between her and a yucky Vienna, she won in that situation. However, this season is full of eccentric bachelors that I want to root for and poke fun at--at the same time. Its a really unique group and clearly about half of them are there to steal the show.

In the first episode alone, we witnessed some pretty weird antics including a pee-pee dance, a cubic zirconium ring proposal, several roses given to Ali and a flip off the top of the limo. But those are actually pretty tame compared to the other things we saw on the show (or previewed), which really makes one think about things men will do just to get a girl's attention. Here are my picks for worst first impressions of the night:

First things first, 'Rated R' is really just Ridiculous. Not only is he an entertainment wrestler, but he's not afraid to tell anyone and everyone about it. He even had his own T-shirt on under his dress shirt. I think he's out for himself and the publicity the show will bring him. Ding, ding, it's already working because we googled him during the show just to see what he was all about. EXACTLY what he was hoping we'd do.

Second, Kyle - This guy has "weirdness" written all over him. Though there's nothing wrong about being a hunter, there's just something really disturbing about his love for stuffed animals. It also doesn't help that he threatened to take (and eat) the first impression rose off the table. His odious words, ''If I eat it I can take it into my soul forever and no one else can have it,'' pretty much sums it up.

Third, Craig M. - The hair guy from Toronto. He thinks he has McDreamy's hair, though he doesn't look one bit like Patrick Demsey and his suit was way too tight. He's also cocky and says really random things that he thinks are funny, like bring up Ali's romantic archenemy, Vienna. Not exactly a good conversation topic in my book, but I guess Ali bought it, since she kept Craig M. in the running.

Finally, Derrick, aka "Shooter" - Nobody, and I mean nobody, likes to hear premature ejaculation stories on national television, let alone on a first date. That's why Ali's ''What the f---?'' reaction upon hearing Derrick's story about how he got his nickname Shooter was spot-on. It's a good thing Ali's smart enough to spot a creep and, oh so fittingly, Shooter exited the show early. But left upset as if he thought his little story would expose him and make him stand out. Oh he stood out alright... haha!

Overall I think this season is going to be packed with drama and I really hope cute little Ali finds the man of her dreams and lives happily ever after, even if it makes for better TV for her not to.

Celebration for Baby Braxton

Our friends Jessica and Bragg are having a little baby boy in June they plan to name Braxton. We helped host a baby shower yesterday for Jess and Braxton and below are a few pictures of the day. I think this fuels my baby bug. But no worries, Wedding, enjoying married life and then a baby!

Sunny Day in Our Back Yard

It is amazing to me how the little things sometimes are the best and most heart warming. Today I had an appointment with my dad to look at a possible venue for our wedding (Not dad and I, but Bobby and I's wedding!) and I wasn't about to fight the traffic back to work to then fight it home again. So, after we had the wedding chat and the planning chat and the colors and budget chat... I headed home from downtown. Traffic really wasn't too bad, but it was approaching 5 and I could see the dark clouds of angry drivers heading into the streets. (Long intro short) I made it home by about 5:15 and it was an amazingly beautiful day and Hines and Sadie thought so too.

I took the chance to spend a few hours in the backyard with our pups and really just enjoy some QT, quality time. I pulled out their favorite blanket, and yes they have a favorite blanket that they sleep on when they are in the family room. I put it in the middle of the yard and just relaxed. They thought it was fabulous. Hines brought me his toys, showing me how he carried each one and how he kept them all from Sadie. And Sadie made sure Hines knew she was Queen Bee and going to sit in my lap the entire time. I also grabbed the camera and got some great shots, see below.
Overall the even was great, its so different to be home at 5 and not at 7. And @ 5 I have missed the hour traffic that I say in to get home by 7. I could get used to that!! It was really the simple act of sitting in the back yard and enjoying some time to do nothing that made my night.

Van, Shower Bananza & Mother's Day!

This weekend was so full of events I'm not sure that we slept. But, it was a beautiful weekend and we really enjoyed everything we did. Friday night we were treated to the Van Morrison Concert at the new amphitheatre in Alpharetta. The Pizza's took us to the show, which was so sweet of them. The show was a bit disappointing, but it was Van Morrison, so there isn't much you can say. However, he wouldn't allow the venue to let cameras in, no beverages except for water was served after 8:00 (when the show started) and no law seats were sold. Basically he is high maintenance and was proving it Friday night in Georgia. He did sing Georgia on my mind, which was great, but thats about the only song I knew that he sang. We apparently missed Brown Eye's girl and Moondance in the 5 minutes we were late... but the company was great and we did see Van Morrison live!

Saturday was pure craziness, but we made it out alive! Saturday morning we got up and ran Race For the Cure with my Zeta friends and then rushed home to go see Hope's first gymnastics performance! She was adorable, up and down the mat, on the beam, etc. Really great! And at the end they all got medals, so she kept saying she was the winner. It's so great to be part of a family that is so supportive. And Bobby and I are luck enough to have both sides of our families to be this way! We might actually have too much support, haha! Then Saturday night we attempted to go to two showers and a firm function. We hit the Pizza's wedding shower @ 5:30, left for Jessica's couples shower at 7:30 and then were supposed to go back to the Pizza's for dessert and to a firm function in Norcross at 9:00. Ha! We only made it to the 2 showers, but that was great and we really had a good time. Jessica got some of the most adorable things and Jonathan and Alexis both were super excited about their wedding.

Sunday was Mother's Day and we pulled double duty as usual and did brunch with Bobby's family and lunch only 2 hours later with my family. We at some point hope to merge everyone together, but for now will keep things in high gear and try to make both sets of parents happy at all times. We decided this year to take our moms to see the Sound of Music @ the Fox, so in August Bobby and I will be taking his mom and my mom to lunch and to the show. They both loved the idea and I think it will be a good bonding moment since we hope to be engaged @ that point!! :)

Overall a great weekend! Here's to another Monday and the start of a great week!

Wasted Second Chance

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo and we had planned to have people over to celebrate and then Bobby picked up a case in Savannah so plans were altered. We did have our own little celebration on the back deck with tacos and margaritas. We had emailed a few people to come by for dinner and I thought I had let them all know that plans had changed. However, I missed one... our favorite Assistant DA. He came by after celebrating with a few margaritas somewhere else and we caught up on a few things and his latest cases. He always has the best stories of the drama in the DA's office and some of the most random cases he picks up. One of which inspired this post. Currently there is a case in Marietta involving a Rapper - Lyfe Jennings, which I think you all will find to be amusing and entertaining at the same time.

Lyfe Jennings, born Chester Bamsu Jennings, went to jail in 1992 (at the age of 14) for arson. However, apparently its a little more serious than that as there was someone who died in the fire. Then while in jail (for 10 years) he claims to have turned his life around and rekindle his faith in God. In fact, his inmate #, "268-192" was attached to the end of his debut album. After the release of this album he became a star, performing with other R&B artist, playing nation wide and picking up a contract with a major label. Then a year or so ago he was visiting his Baby's mama in Smyrna. He left her house drunk and upset and fired several shots into the air while speeding away from her house. Being the nice neighborhood it was neighbors were concerned and called the cops to report the incident. Cops found him driving just down the street from the neighborhood and attempted to pull him over. Having been in jail previously and still on parole as he now has 3 felony convictions, he ran from the cops. His car reached well over 90 miles an hour and finally came to a stop after flipping just under a bridge. The accident was terrible and apparently he was lucky to be alive and even luckier to not have hit anyone else on the road. The charges of DUI, possession or illegal firearms, avoiding the police, etc. is what landed the case with the DA's office. Now he's pleading guilty (D'uh) but he wants a deal. YES, a deal! He actually hired the same attorney that got TI off with a great deal last year. Lyfe wants to plead guilty to several crimes and to be sentenced, but on his terms, HA! That is what is wrong with our system today, we actually give criminals the option or the thought that there is an option of when they are sentences and when they can serve their time. It's unreal at what people can do and get away with and also how the system works... or doesn't work.

After being given a second chance and coming out of prison with a career that blows up, he has wasted it. He has made millions and had the chance to make more and blows it because his "baby's mama" and he don't see eye to eye. Drives me nuts! I hope that our DA's office stands firm and that he is sentenced and put away before he plays and shows. If you want to hear some of his music you can check out his myspace page, its rather hard core. http://www.myspace.com/lyfejennings

Uncle Frank Sends Us To The Game

The Hawks have had a winning season and are in the play offs and where were we?? THERE! For everything Bobby has done for Swift Currie McGhee and Hiers, or the Swifty C as he sometimes calls it - we were given play off tickets. We actually just went to the game, which was my first ever Hawks game, but enjoyed these seats a lot more. Apparently "Uncle Frank" has had seats for the Hawks since they started in Philips Arena and they are in the club level. Of course B had to have a pretzel to make his night, but we did enjoy the personal service and I even had sushi during the game. Who knew! Nonetheless, the seats were great and now the Hawks are headed to the Semi-Finals!! Maybe Uncle Frank will hook us up again soon.
